Experts make the case for more services during Mental Health Awareness Month

Here is some unsettling news: One out of two Americans will become mentally ill at some point in their lives. And roughly one in four suffer now from mental illness — or as Jay Glynn puts it, “they meet the diagnostic criteria for mental illnesses, and those include mental depression and anxiety.”

And yet resources, funding, and the warm consideration so often extended to those with physical ailments such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes or the flu are often not as forthcoming for the mentally ill,
